At the Gala Day

We are excited to again host a great gala day with many divisions at capacity and a great opportunity for all teams to put in those final preparations ready for Junior State Cup. Below are the rules for the day and any extra information to help you while you are at the fields.

Rules:

  • Each team must supply their own referee (your referee will follow your team for the day, therefore, at every game there will be 2 referees, one from each team)
  • 25 minutes games with touchdown turn around rules
  • No stoppages
  • 5 minutes break between games
  • Games will start on time with no delays

No scores will be recorded as this is a gala day in preparation for the Junior State Cup.

Full canteen facilities will be on offer from 8.00am at the main canteen and BBQ facilities.

All teams will receive a minimum of 4 games. Some divisions will have a BYE in their draw, in this case, please check the draw carefully as there will be a split round (back-to-back game) to avoid a long wait between games.

There is a shopping centre down the road should you need any last-minute supplies.

Draws

Historically U10's & U12's will be played in the morning between 8am & 12pm and the U14's to U18's will be played between 1pm & 5pm. Games will be 25-minute touchdown-turnaround format and teams will get 4 games each on the day (pending numbers).

Boys are played on the hour, for example, 8am, 9am, 10am, 11am.  Girls are played on the half hour, for example, 8:30am, 9:30am, 10:30am, 11:30am.  The only exception is when there is a BYE, there will be a back-to-back game for the BYE team to avoid a large time gap.

Links to the draws will be updated the week before the gala day, for December 2025, the draws will be available 7th December 2025.

We recommend all managers to check the draws the morning of the Gala Day.  Our club usually works late to react to unforeseen changes due to weather, teams withdrawing, fields, lights and other factors outside of our control.  The Mysideline links to the draws are easiest way to receive the most up to date information.

* SPLIT ROUNDs occur when there is a BYE in the competition.  This means that there is a back-to-back game for teams with a BYE.  Teams with back-to-back games will remain on the same field.

Tents and Gazeboes

Tents and Gazeboes are welcomed as there can sometimes be little shade at the fields. Please refer to the field layout for the best locations for your gazeboes. We ask that you consider the safety of the players when setting up the tents and gazeboes. There must be a minimum 5-metre gap to the sideline substitution box, and a 7-metre gap to any try line.

Heat Guidelines

Should heat become a factor in the Gala Day, the Touch Football Australia Head Guidelines will be enacted. (see below)
