Vawdon Cup is a weekly representative competition conducted by NSW Touch. Games are played throughout the Sydney Metropolitan area catering for Open & Youth divisions. The competition has 10 rounds and a final series.

Played weekly between August and early October, this competition has a prestigious 35 year history in Sydney. With teams representing affiliates as far as Penrith, Liverpool, Wollongong & Central Coast as well as everywhere in between, the Vawdon Cup puts you up against some of the best players in the Country. The competition is however still split into skill based divisions so even a beginner has a place to get started. The club has fully accredited coaches in charge of each squad which will help improve your knowledge and skills. Trials and training usually commence in early May.

When: Friday nights and all day Sundays between September and October 2026

Where: Bankstown Touch Fields, Penrith Touch Fields, Balmain Touch Fields, Tempe, Chifley

Costs and Fees

The following fees can be used as a guide for estimating the cost of participating in the Vawdon Cup Tournament. These fees are the minimum fees required to be eligible to play in the Vawdon Cup. All fees are payable per player.

~$90 Vawdon Cup registration with NSW Touch Association – This is set by NSW Touch Association for the running of the Vawdon Cup in Sydney.
~$75 Penrith Touch Players Levy
~$90 Playing Gear (includes playing singlet, shorts or tights, socks and cap)

Working with Children Check Application

The following links give information about applying for the Working With Children Check application. A Working With Children Check is a requirement for people who work or volunteer in child-related work. It involves a national criminal history check and a review of findings of workplace misconduct.

The result of a Working With Children Check is either a clearance to work with children for five years, or a bar against working with children. Cleared applicants are subject to ongoing monitoring and relevant new records may lead to the clearance being revoked. The Working With Children Check is fully portable so it can be used for any paid or unpaid child-related work in NSW for as long as the worker remains cleared.

After filling out the online application you will receive an application number via the email address you supplied in the online application. To complete the application, you must attend a NSW motor registry or NSW Council Agency to verify your identity. For volunteer work, the fee is $0. You will receive your WWCC clearance number within 4 weeks of proving your identity.
