Junior State Cup

This is the premier NSW Touch Football junior representative event and is conducted each year in late February across two conferences, North and South, with the State Final held in Metro Sydney to determine State Champions. NSW Touch Association has recently announced that the venues for the next 3 years have been locked in, and the NSW Junior State Cup will see the Southern Conference heading to Wagga Wagga, and the Northern Conference heading to Dubbo. As the title suggest this is the State Championship and open to all NSW Affiliated Members. For trial dates and further team information, keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for more information which will be announced in late October.

Costs and Fees

Participating in a Junior State Cup campaign can be an expensive endeavour.  The following are a breakdown of the fees expected per player for the campaign.

Junior State Cup fees

The following fees can be used as a guide for estimating the cost of participating in the Junior State Cup Tournament.  These fees are
the minimum fees required to be eligible to play in the JSC.  All fees are payable per player.

  • ~$122 Junior State Cup registration with NSW Touch Association – This is set by NSW Touch Association for the running of the Junior State Cup at Wagga.
  • ~$130 Penrith Touch Players Levy (covers items like tent hire, referees, incidentals, sunscreen, fruits and drinks at JSC)
  • ~$110 Playing Gear (includes playing singlet, shorts/tights, socks and cap)

Accommodation should be booked as soon as possible. There will be 20,000 people descending towards Wagga for State Cup, accommodation will be scarce. It is difficult to give a good estimate for accommodation costs; in the past it has ranged from $200 - $1200 for the weekend. Accommodation is organised by the parents and not by Penrith TA.  We strongly encourage parents to source accommodation with free cancellation and full refund as close to Wagga as possible.  Parents may need to look outside Wagga to obtain reasonably priced accommodation.

Gala Day fees

The following fees are in addition when developing the team for JSC.  They include any Gala Day tournaments that the coach may wish to enter in preparation for JSC. All fees listed for team.

  • Gala Day entry fees ~ $100 per tournament per team (approx. $9 per player)
  • Referee fee, ~ $100 per tournament per team (approx. $9 per player)

Working with Children Check Application

The following links give information about applying for the Working With Children Check application.  A Working With Children Check is a requirement for people who work or volunteer in child-related work.  It involves a national criminal history check and a review of findings of workplace misconduct.

The result of a Working With Children Check is either a clearance to work with children for five years, or a bar against working with children.  Cleared applicants are subject to ongoing monitoring and relevant new records may lead to the clearance being revoked. The Working With Children Check is fully portable so it can be used for any paid or unpaid child-related work in NSW for as long as the worker remains cleared.

After filling out the online application you will receive an application number via the email address you supplied in the online application.  To complete the application, you must attend a NSW motor registry or NSW Council Agency to verify your identity.  For volunteer work, the fee is $0. You will receive your WWCC clearance number within 4 weeks of proving your identity.
